Fishing for
Pleasure
Most people are of the opinion that fish are simply a means of
living, or maybe, all things considered, a mere food source.
However, there is quite another point of view, which, so far,
nobody has ever realized. Annually, the manufacturing industry
makes use of over 2 billion pounds of by-products of fish as
well as fish itself. In fact, this is a wee bit more than is
actually taken for food.
A majority of people are in the dark with regard to the fact
that fishing remains the most popular leisure activity since
it offers tremendous recreational potential.
In effect, more and more people are taking to this pastime and
this is borne out by the fact that the steady increase in the
number of people queuing up to obtain fishing licenses every
year, has touched nearly 12 million.
In addition, according to surveys conducted, for every $1 that
is expended on a fishing license, $16 is paid out for gear
like fishing tackle, clothing, food, and conveyance. In fact,
a larger amount of money is expended on fishing than it is
spent on any other recreational pursuit in the present-day.
This is truly amazing and it reinforces the fact that fishing
is a well-accepted and well-liked activity and its future
looks very bright.
What makes it terrific?
Fishing provides an escape mechanism. It gives people an
opportunity to leave behind their cares and concerns, and
helps free their mind of unnecessary clutter. It fills a
person with a sense of pure joy and it is like spending a day
in paradise.
